Appointments
It is in the best interests of your children for both parents to participate in mediation. If you decline to take part, please understand I am still required to issue a report to the Court and must do so using the information available to me.
Family Court Services Mediation:
If you received a letter from Family Court Services to contact me for an appointment, there is no need to call me. I will send you a letter shortly with your scheduled appointment time. Please plan to be at the appointment for two hours. You must bring children 5 years of age or older. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to be left unattended in the waiting area. Please bring an adult to supervise them.
Private pay Mediation:
If you or the other party are paying for mediation, you may call me to schedule the first appointment.
Another way to accomplish arranging a first meeting is to email me and the other parent with your request for an appointment. I will respond to both of you with available times and coordinate a time that is mutually convenient for all of us.
Children are not brought to the first meeting of private pay mediation.
In either type of mediation:
If there is a restraining order in place, the protected party has the option to bring a support person to the mediation appointment, or request a separate mediation appointment. Please discuss this with me in advance.
